International Institute of Management Sciences (IIMS) is the pioneer institute in India in conducting Management Education under Distance Mode (DEM) in the private sector since 1979. The Institute is the first in the country to receive AICTE, Govt. India approval in the year 1991 for offering PGDBA (equivalent to MBA) in DEM. In the year 2000, the PGDBA course was upgraded to the MBA degree by Visva-Bharti Central University. Today, the institute is affiliated to Vidyasagar University for conducting MBA course and Pondicherry University for conducting MBA and MCA courses.

IIMS has been conducting Full-time MBA programme with approval of AICTE and West Bengal University of Technology (EBUT) at its own campus located at the Uluberia Industrial growth Centre, Howrah with all modern infrastructural facilities. It offers unique opportunity to the students’ community to be nourished within a pollution free environment to concentrate and harness all energies to devote for academic excellence, free from the din and bustle of the city.

All infrastructural facilities, computers with internet connection, a library with more than 4000 (four thousand) book, Journals, audio- visual system are some of its prime attractions. The Principal, a well known person in Management Education is assisted by other well known Professors and other regular faculty. Apart from that, Business Management and Senior Executives from Industries and other well – Known Management Institutes are often drawn as visiting / Guest faculty. Industrial visits and assignment are the regular events in the programme to produce well equipped professionals to meet the challenges of the competing business world with commendable competence.
